Klipsch RC-10 Delivers Maximum Clarity and Efficiency
Adding a new value point to the best-selling Reference Series, the Klipsch RC-10 center channel speaker is part of the new Reference 10 family. The RC-10 center channel has the same technology and materials as the Reference III center channels while providing a smaller enclosure and lower cost.
The Klipsch RC-10 is magnetically shielded to prevent video interference. It utilizes a Tractrix Horn titanium driver dome compression tweeter for detail and clarity output. The Dual Cerametallic woofers also maximize clarity. The cone woofers’ tapered array alignment add to the clear expression. Front ports and adjustable tilting allow for maximum flexibility for placement. Of course, the Klipsch RC-10 center channel provides high sensitivity and power handling.
In case you were wondering about tapered arrayed configuration, Klipsch’s Tapered-Array™ Technology is a 2.5-way design that minimizes the acoustical interference between drivers that plagues most horizontal center-channel speakers. The result is a clear, smooth sound on both sides as well as directly in front of the speaker. The technology uses both woofers to create vivid bass, while only one woofer works with the tweeter to produce midrange.
The RC-10 4″ woofers have the distinctive Klipsch copper-color and Cerametallic™ material featuring anodized aluminum The anodizing process converts their inner and outer surfaces to ceramic. The outcome is a strong and dent resistant, rigid cone with superb damping characteristics that will not flex or resonate at frequencies within the woofer’s operating range. The tweeter is a 1-inch titanium-dome compression driver loaded with a 4-inch square Tractrix® Horn.
Klipsch Reference Series speakers are wired internally with Bandwidth Balanced™ Monster® Cable. Bandwidth Balanced technology employs multiple gauges of high-purity copper wire, carefully selected and wound to ensure optimum signal transfer at all frequencies. On the back of each speaker are two sets of binding posts, one feeding the tweeter and the other the woofers. For conventional wiring, these sets are connected together with gold-plated metal straps, which must be removed for bi-wiring or biamping.
While it’s difficult and challenging to make a modestly size, horizontally arrayed loudspeaker, the Klipsch RC-10 easily carries on the Reference Series’ high-performance legacy.
